The Fronius plain steel liner is designed for use with 1.0mm – 1.6mm mild steel (ER70S-2, ER70S-6 etc.) welding wires. Problems can arise when these liners are used for other types of wires such as stainless steel and aluminium. Steel liners are naturally more resistant and are abrasive on the softer wires.
These liners have a good balance of flexibility and rigidity and will fit some of the Fronius mig torches including the AW5000 water-cooled version.
