Kemper Smartmaster Fume Extractor c/w 2m Flexible Exhaust Arm 240v
The Kemper Smartmaster welding fume extractor is ideal for lighter duty applications where low amounts of dust and welding fumes are created. This extractor is best suited for companies that predominately do tig welding and thin sheet metal mig welding processes.
This compact filter device is designed to extract the welding fumes right at the source and then exhaust them with a separation rate of more than 99%. The exhaust hood which is fitted at the end of the extraction arm is easily movable which makes it effortless for the operator to move the hood near to his workpiece. The arm is also kept rigid without any additional support needed.
You also have the additional benefit of being able to fit a suction hose to the Smartmaster unit. This is available as a 3m length and comes complete with a suction nozzle attached. The 3-stage filtering process ensures that the exhausted dust and air is purified fully before being returned to the working area.
Since the launch of the HSE Bulletin in February 2019 for the control of mild steel welding fumes, this Smartmaster unit has been very popular for most lightweight metal workshop environments.
What happens to the welding fumes?
• Hazardous materials (dust and air) are released during the welding process of most materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• These fumes are designed to be captured by the exhaust hood at the source of the weld (the hood should be as near to the workpiece as possible just above the welding process).
• These hazardous fumes flow into the hood, up through the arm and into the filter unit.
• Within the filter unit, the air and fumes pass firstly through the prefilter for coarse particles, then a second prefilter for fine dust, and then finally through the main filter.
• Through this process, the fine breathable smoke particles are separated with an efficiency rating of more than 99%.
• This clean air is then sucked in by the fan and returned into the working area safely.
