The Lincoln LC105 Plasma Hand Torch 7.5 m is designed for use with the Lincoln Tomahawk 1538 plasma cutter.
Modern torch technology allows for torches to have a longer life time with improved cutting thickness, greater speed, standard and grid cutting. It has a 9-pin central connector for torch connection as well as long life electrode and consumables and a more concentrated plasma. As well as this, the Tomahawk torch benefits from no HF, a smaller electrode diameter with ‘screw’ and high air-flow through diagonal drilled holes in the direction of the ‘screw,’ which results in a high speed rotating air flow around the electrode. A cooling system is featured comprising of a primary and secondary flow; the secondary air stream with cold air concentrates at the plasma beam in the centre. This promotes efficiency and work quality.
Contact with the torch is convenient for the operator as they simply drag the well-protected nozzle across the plate to use. The torch also allows for maximum flexibility and visibility of the plasma stream, making stand-off another option for use. Gouging of various materials is also a possibility; welding defects such as breaks, porosity and lack of fusion can be gouged out using the plasma torch in preparation for a new weld. When gouging with the Lincoln Tomahawk 1538 plasma cutter, the material removal capability is 10 cm3/min at a suggested speed of 90cm/min, 55o torch inclination and air pressure of 4.0-4.5 bar with mild steel.
