Description
The PMUC approved Ardrox 9VF2 Penetrant Aerosol is a high sensitivity, red dye penetrant aerosol that is Azo-dye free and can be used in fluorescent mode with ultraviolet light which gives further indication of defects.
Directions for use
Before applying the penetrant, the part should be pre-cleaned, to do this the Ardrox 9PR5 Solvent Cleaner Aerosol can be used so the surface can be free of oil or grease.
To apply penetrant the ideal surface temperature is between -10 and 500C. A thin, even layer of 9VF2 should cover the test area and a 10–30 minute penetration time should be given before removing. It can be applied by aerosol, brushing, flow-on, immersion, spray or swab.
The penetrant can then be removed using the Ardrox 9PR5 and a developer, such as the Ardrox NQ1 Developer Aerosol, can be applied to the part. It is also water washable but the surface should not be flushed with surface cleaner as sensitivity will be lost.
